She could be living anywhere in the world but would definitely have to be an owner of a dog or cat. She is deeply connected with her pet and considers the pet to be a family member almost like a child to her. There is nothing she wouldn't do for her pet. She is also very protective of her pet and always wants the best for her pet safety wise.
She would be a person of any age who has a full-time job or commitments that require her to be away from her house 8 hours a day Monday through Friday. She would be an active walker who enjoys walking her dog every day after she gets home. Her hobbies may include dog walking, gardening, and cooking all of which she enjoys doing with her pet. When she watches television, she enjoys having her pet on her lap or right by her side within her reach. At night when she goes to bed, she is most comfortable with her pet snuggled up right by her side.
She might be married with a family but most likely would be single with her pet being her closest companion in her everyday routine. She is satisfied making a modest living and driving an average priced car and enjoys the lifestyle she has. Besides her job or commitments, her biggest concern is for her pet. She often wonders about her pet when she's away from home and looks forward to getting back home after she been gone to enjoy the companionship of her pet.
What do I have in common with the customer avatar?
I'm am the exact same person only difference is I'm a male. I care deeply about my pet and think about him everytime I'm away from him. We enjoy going on daily walks and being together. He is my best and closest companion, and there's nothing that I wouldn't do for him. My dog is a big part of my family, and there's nothing that makes me happier than having him in my life and enjoying his company. I don't think this is a coincidence. I think about my dog constantly when I'm gone, and the idea of being able to see what he's doing is the reason behind the creation of the Smart Collar. Just being able to see him would put me be in a happier mood when I can't physically be with him.
Good job! I think you essentially broke down a large part of your avatar. The detail is great and specific, and it really helps paint a picture of the type of person who’d be using your product.
ReplyDeleteThis might be a personal opinion because I know the assignment is supposed to be an avatar, but part of me doesn’t really like that genders have to be separated for a non-gender specific need or product. Assuming our products are not unique to sex, it feels like this approach could easily, implicitly discourage us from caring about willing, valuable customers. That said, I’d just say “they” when describing the ideal customer. Or perhaps having two customer avatars would sidestep this.
